ITsec has a highly efficient and repeatable process for performing security assessments. The process is not dependant on employees. All ITsec employees are ‘hand-picked’ from Universities of Applied Sciences. Most common master programmes the employees of ITsec followed are Software Engineering, System and Network Engineering and/or Computer Science.
An internship is typically the starting point of your career at ITsec. Once you graduate and start working for ITsec, you will,1 – 2 years, be guided to work as an ‘ethical hacker’ on security assessments. You follow an internal training program and are trained on the job. In addition to a master degree, most ITsec employees have one of the following certificates:
The knowledge of employees is kept up-to-date using monthly security meetings, frequent pizza sessions and the Zero-day lab. Besides this, employees, based on an individual development plan, follow (internal) training and are coached. Employees also attend conferences such as OWASP AppSec, DEF CON, Black Hat, ISF, NCSC One, CCC (Hamburg) and Infosecurity Europe. Last but not least. The ITsec employees regularly participate in Capture the Flag events.
