It is vital for the Waterschap Noorderzijlvest to ensure privacy and ensure that the information offered is reliable and confidential information is only accessible to authorized parties. Within this context, Waterschap Noorderzijlvest has decided to assess the security of all systems accessible remotely and on the local network by ITsec.
Waterschap Noorderzijlvest is a public enterprise for safe and sustainable water management. As an integral ‘water board’, Noorderzijlvest is responsible for the quantity and quality surface water, water management and waterway management in North and West of Groningen, Northwest Drenthe and the Frisian part of the Lauwersmeer.
ITsec tested the operational effectiveness of the security of the network and connected water management systems of Noorderzijlvest using a remote and local host assessment. ITsec examined whether it is possible in any way, to gain unauthorized access to the network, the connected systems and data. In other words, we showed how much effort it takes to breach the security of the Noorderzijlvest network and what is possible when this happens.
ITsec presented the technical findings in a concise report, which clearly shows the business impact of vulnerabilities. Based on the priority of the severity of the vulnerabilities and the proposed actions to remediate them, Noorderzijlvest can take concrete steps to improve security.
